Very good class and informative for true novice drivers. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to autocross or even to learn how their car handles or just to improve driving skills. Instructors were very helpful as well.

RE: SOLO Novice School

As a follow-up to this, I've been in touch with George Modlin, the FLR SCCA Solo Chief Instructor and he would be happy to include BMW Club members in his school on 5/23. They will offer the SCCA member entry rate to BMW Club members.

When you register, put 'BMW' for the SCCA Region and put your BMW CCA membership number where they ask for SCCA member number. You will have to fill in an SCCA weekend membership form for the event, but that's no biggie.

Andy

RE: SOLO Novice School

We haven't come up with a club-sponsored novice school for this year, but the SCCA school was moved to Seneca Army Depot and the date changed to Saturday, 5/23 (Saturday of Memorial Day weekend). They are now looking for more students so this is a good opportunity to get into a well-run autocross novice school.

The link for more info and registration is: http://www.flr-scca.com/solo/noviceschool.html

Andy

RE: SOLO Novice School

Jon Coffin and I used to organize an annual GVC autocross novice school in conjunction with the Syracuse-area PCA chapter. It was held at the kart track at Greene, but ended some years ago with the passing away of Jiri Nechleba, and the subsequent sale of the track.

Attendance was always good at the school, even though it was a fair ride from Rochester.

-Karl

RE: SOLO Novice School

FLR-SCCA has a school coming up on 5/23 @SEAD. There may be a way to structure one of our "Tuning Day" events to include instruction. I'll ask a few of the other "chiefs" that help run our events about their thoughts.

Andy

SOLO Novice School

Any plans for a club sponsored novice autocross class?
