So I just picked my first bimmer, a 1989 BMW 325i and I love it. However it is almost 20 years old and some things I will replace in order to restore it to its original condition. This includes various small exterior, interior, and some mechanical parts such as a drivers seat, an antenna, a front lip spoiler, maybe a catalytic converter, and a brake duct (yes, I broke it when I hit the wall at the last BIMP event ). None of these parts are necessary enough for me to pay big bucks to order new parts at the dealer, so I'm just looking for a low cost alternative.

I have been told in the past to pick up a parts car, however this doesn't seem to be a viable option for me as I have little space for a junker and I dont want to pay for parts I don't need. I also had a very hard time finding an e30 in the first place, and I can only imagine finding a parts car will be just as hard. So what do you guys do for finding parts for your older BMW?? Does anybody actually have a e30 parts car and want to sell parts? Is there a known junkyard that has an e30 that I can pick parts off of? Has anybody had any luck on eBay?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Pick a forum or two and post your list on there. A lot of people have extra parts and cars. Ebay can be decent also. Location?

Edit: Or... contact HCPROBST, I see on the ownership pole he is parting an 86 325e.

J & J would be a good try, they are off Route 96, just past Manchester; Budget Salvage Yard as well; Budget is on Rte 104, Williamson. BMW forums are great resources, try www.bimmer.org  click on the 3 series E-30 link and post a message you need some parts; you'll get replies. You might want to try Roy Hopkins as well, he's here in Rochester (Spencerport),  can't say enough nice things about Roy, many times he's helped me out.

I have a couple E30 parts cars lying about. Might have some of the pieces you need, although some of what you list are typical parts that every old E30 needs.
