Jason Workman, my KONI Challenge co-driver was seriously injured Tuesday at Moroso Motorsports Park in Florida.  While working for the Chrysler Tour, Jason was testing an Ariel Atom with the owner of the car in the passenger seat, when severe thunderstorms rolled throught the West Palm area.  The cars were pulled off track and under a canopy in pit lane, when the wind destroyed the structure.  Jason was struck by something that was picked up and seriously injured.  The passenger was fine with minor bruises.  Currently he is in a medically induced coma due to numerous upper body fractures including both shoulder blades, right humourous, both collar bones, numerous ribs, as well as bruised lungs and swelling to the brain.  The force of the object that stuck him was enough to crack his helmet.  He is being treated at St. Marys Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Updates can be found on the mesage board on www.grandamerican.com, as well as the professional motorsports section of www.bimmerforums.com.  Jason also has his own website where updates can also be found at www.jasonworkman.com.   Again, Jason is my co-driver for V-Pack Motorsports, KONI Challenge 2008, as well as a very close friend.  Prayers and thoughts are needed for him and his family, and I will do my best to keep you updated on his condition.

Very sorry to hear about your co-driver's injury.  I hope he recovers fully and can enjoy motorsports again soon.

As of Easter Sunday, Jason has been on the road to recovery.  If you have been following the posts and updates on other sites,  you will kow that he is slowly getting better.  His injuries are severe, both shoulder blades, right humourous, right collar bone, L1 lumbar, and all ribs are broken, his lungs are severely bruised which led to ARDS(adult respitory distress syndrome), his spleen was lacerated, and he sustained 2 head traumas.  The latest CAT showed no brain damage and the bleeding has stopped and swelling has subsided.  He has opened his eyes and tried to speak, allthough, this takes a huge toll on his body.  His oxygen production levels are improving, and he is slowly getting his respirator settings dialed back.  He is going to have a long recovery and every prayer helps!  Thank you to all of you that have viewed this post!

Jason is well on his way to a full and 100% recovery.  He was released from the hospital over a week ago and should return to his home in Flowery Branch GA by the end of this week!  He made it a point for me to thank each and every one of you that have thought and or prayed for him through all of this.  It will be a long road of recovery for him but he will again make a full 100% recovery, and according to him he "could not have done it without the support of so many."  Thank you all again, and be warned that he will be back on track before you know it!
