GVC BMW CCA is pleased to announce that Mike Self, the noted coumnist for the Roundel, and long-time BMW owner will give us a talk about his Bimmer adventures entitled,  "A Half Century with BMWs Old and New." Mike bought his first BMW in 1969, when he picked up his first 2002, Wolfgang.  Since then MIke added to his fleet, including a second 2002 (a 1973 2002 named Ludwig) and an e30 (a 1991 318is named Georg Friederich).  In addition, Mike  has test-driven newer Bimmers for the Roundel,  and taken them on multiple cross-cointry trips.  Mike also has an ecelctic automtive collection of cars that originated in places other than Munich, including Fiat Topolinis (Benito & Luigi), Renault 4CVs (Anatole, Lucky Pierre, Brigette) & Kermit, the Bugeye Sprite.

Mike will talk about how he became involved with BMWs and some of his adventures with his '02s and E30s, and some Road Trip sagas: a couple of cross country trips in X1s, and four  trips to Florida in press pool BMW convertibles.  And even a bit about attending Press Intros in interesting places near and far.

We'll start the mornign at  9:00 am at Joe Ajavon's garage for coffee, bagels, and investigate Joe's own collection, which includes varoius flavors of Bimmers including an e30 M3, an e28 M5, a few Alpina cars, and even an old E-Type Jaguar. Then at 11:00 we'll do a short drive thorugh the back-roads to The Little Speed Shop to hear Mike's talk at noon.  Mike's talk will be BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair).  Afterwords we will go out for beer and burgers at Genessee Brewery.  You are welcome to join us at Joe's or meet up with us at TLSS.

Please RSVP Ian Dickerson at idickerson2002@gmail.com for directions to Joe's garage and so we can estimate how many to expect for coffee and bagels.
